The home's active 'Friends' group
The Home has an active ‘Friends’ group who meet regularly and organise many fundraising events. These can range from ‘can shaking’ to barbecues and fun events and organised fairs where they man stalls such as bric-a brac, second hand books, toys, jewellery, home-made baking, tombola and raffles.
The Friends also run the Charity Shop in Portobello High Street and help is always required to sort out donations and man the shop.
The Friends charge a small annual membership fee, in return for which you will not only get the chance to improve your social life but also, more importantly, you will be helping to raise much-needed funds for the Home.
