Rough Runner is an obstacle course challenge, combining distance running with a variety of obstacles along the way, each inspired by game shows such as Total Wipeout, Takeshi’s Castle, Gladiators, and Fun House. Expect sweeper arms, giant pigeon battles, big balls and yes, The Travelator!

Team EDCH, Rough Runner 2017

Scott, who took part in Rough Runner in 2017, said, "It was one of the most fun events I've ever taken part in. The obstacles were great and so nostalgic of 90s TV game shows. I mean, who wouldn't want the chance to be a Gladiator?! The atmosphere was electric on the day and having other Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home runners alongside me to help spur me on along the course was perfect. I'll definitely be back next year!"

There are three difficulty levels available; 5km, 10km and 15km. So whether you're just looking for fun or for your next bonkers challenge, there's something for everyone!
