Education Officer

Full time, permanent

£25 - 28,000 per annum, depending on experience

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home is seeking an exceptional individual to lead on the creation and implementation of an educational outreach programme for Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home has a 134-year history of rescuing, reuniting and rehoming dogs and cats across Edinburgh and the Lothians. The arrival of a new Chief Executive and Senior Management Team has seen the development of a 5-year strategic plan for the Home, with a view to becoming one of the leading animal welfare organisations in Scotland.

The successful candidate will ideally be from an animal welfare background with experience of the design and delivery of interactive workshops and training sessions. We are looking for someone passionate about animal welfare with a dynamic and engaging personality who can spread our message about responsible pet ownership to a variety of audiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop their skills in a hardworking team with a shared passion for dog and cat welfare. While the role will not involve direct contact with animals as part of your day-to-day work, a strong knowledge of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership is essential. It is also important that the successful candidate shares the Home’s views on animal welfare and our practices in animal care, training and enrichment.

If you would like more information about this role, or would like to apply, please contact Alan Surgeon at AWS Recruitment on  or 0131 344 4646 for more information.

Closing Date: Friday 15 December 2017
